Dear Universe,
I’m speaking to you today because I want to deepen our relationship.
You are the partner with whom I co-create my life. You are the one who somehow organizes the how behind so many of my questions — and yet, I realize I know very little about you.
I want to know you better.
I’m curious about how you receive my questions. I wonder whether you hear them. And sometimes, I even wonder whether you truly exist.
You must know me quite well by now, because I talk to you every day. I ask you so many questions about what I would love to create, experience, and receive in my life.
And although part of me senses your generosity, another part still wonders:
Did you hear me?
Did you forget me?
Am I being left behind?
What if what I’m asking for is too much?
Too unrealistic?
Too pretentious?
What if what I’m asking for doesn’t truly fit me?
What if I receive an opportunity and don’t recognize it?
And perhaps the most uncomfortable question of all: what if you simply refuse to give me what I’m asking for?
Do you think I’m an excessive dreamer?
Sometimes, when I look at everything I desire, it almost feels as though I’m asking for another life.
Not because I dislike the one I have. Quite the opposite. My life is becoming more and more aligned with what I desire.
And yet, I long to add another dimension to it — one that, from the mind’s perspective, can still feel almost inconceivable.
A life with greater abundance.
More lightness.
Expansion.
Peace within myself.
Joy in being alive.
The ease I’ve dreamed of since I was young.
And even a different relationship with social status and material comfort.
Part of me sees all of this as something “out there.”
And another part of me senses that it may actually be available.
So when I ask for these things, Universe, I wonder what you do with them.
Do you think I’m unrealistic?
Do you scratch your head — if you have one! — trying to figure out how on earth I could possibly receive all of this?
I catch myself trying to figure out how you’re going to do it, even though I also know that whatever unfolds may look very different from what I imagine.
So tell me, Universe:
If you are the one orchestrating so much behind the scenes, what is mine to do?
How can I participate more fully?
Is there something I could become more available to, receive more openly, or stop standing in the way of?
Thanks in advance,
Edith
Here’s what the Universe replied:
Hello Edith,
Thank you for speaking to me directly.
And thank you for bringing me all of your questions.
Right now, many things are moving in ways you cannot yet see. Pieces are being arranged, possibilities are forming, and some of what you have asked for may arrive in ways you could not have imagined.
You do not need to know the whole path in advance.
There may come a moment when you look back at this chapter of your life and think:
Wow. How could I have doubted?
I am not limited in the way the human mind understands limitation.
I do not look at your desires and decide that they are too much, too extravagant, or too ambitious.
I do not hold a fixed plan for who you are supposed to become.
I respond to what you are willing to engage with, choose, receive, and embody.
You asked:
What if what I’m asking for doesn’t correspond to who I am?
Then perhaps another question is worth asking:
Who are you willing to become?
What if who you are is not fixed?
What if you are allowed to expand into a life that feels larger than the one you have known so far?
What if some of your desires are not evidence that you are unrealistic, but invitations to meet more of yourself?
You have often sensed what could be available to you, even when your mind could not explain how.
Perhaps the invitation now is not to force the outcome.
Perhaps it is to become more available to receiving what you have been asking for.
To notice where you still create barriers between yourself and what you desire.
To remain curious.
To choose.
To respond when life opens a door.
I offer possibilities without judgment.
What you do with them is yours.
The Universe
